-Joey's Two Cents: This keeps The Social Network alive, but I'm still torn about what will happen on Oscar night...thoughts?
I'm not convinced that the average Oscar voter won't still vote otherwise, but this was a needed boost to The Social Network...
ReplyDeleteI will be so sad if The Social Network loses the Editing Oscar. If the voters actually think that The King's Speech is the best film of 2010, fine, but to sweep most/all of the technical awards as well, including editing and cinematography? I can't even take that seriously.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there will be a sweep, but that's just me...
ReplyDeleteAnyone who votes TKS over TSN in the Editing category shouldn't get a vote. It would be idiots who have no idea what editing even is and just pick their favourite movie.
ReplyDeleteThat's an over-exaggeration, but I do agree in the thinking that The Social Network (or Black Swan, for that matter) is a better edited film. That being said, balancing comedy and drama is tougher than it seems, as well as keeping the pace of the film from wearing you down, so it's not like The King's Speech is poorly edited, just not as flashy or overtly as satisfying.
