The 2012 Golden Globe Awards

  • Wednesday, November 8, 2011: Cecil B. Demille Award Announcement
  • Thursday, December 15, 2011: Nominations Announced
  • Sunday, January 15, 2012: Awards Ceremony

2012 British Academy of Film and Television Awards

  • Tuesday, January 17, 2012: Nominations Announced
  • Sunday, February 12, 2012: BAFTA Awards Ceremony

    I can never take the Golden Globes seriously, especially after last year. In the Best Musical/Comedy category, films like Alice in Wonderland, Burlesque, and The Tourist were nominated. All of those were weren't totally bad movies, but they had no reason to nominated. Especially when you had better rated comedies like Scott Pilgrim, Easy A, Tangled, Toy Story 3,Despicable Me, etc. Plus Sony bribed the HFPA to a free trip to Las Vegas just to help them nominate The Tourist.

    It's nothing new. They're still an influential group, for better or worse.
