Yes, we're off and running with Staff Predictions on the Main Page. They may be up later than some of you would prefer, but they're still earlier than the vast majority of other sites, so just keep that in mind. ReplyDeleteThose are good predictions, but I don't think Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be nominated since it would be a remake. I can't help but compare this situation to Let the Right One In. Let Me In was an excellent remake of that film and I thought it should have gotten some recognition from the Academy.

Being a remake didn't stop The Departed from winning Best Picture, True Grit from getting 10 Oscar nods, multiple incarnations of A Star is Born from getting recognized, and the same goes for The Magnificent Seven, King Kong, Cape Fear, and others...it's just a matter of Academy taste.
