Deadline reports on yet another installment:

Fox Filmed Entertainment co-chair Tom Rothman and Fox Animation Studios president Vanessa Morrison gave a presentation on the Ice Age franchise today to potential licensees and promotional partners.

Besides talking about the origin of the relationship with animation house Blue Sky Studio, Morrison introduced the cast of the 2012 installment in the franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift. Ray Romano is back as Manny; Queen Latifah returns as Ellie; Dennis Leary as Diego; John Leguizamo as Sid; Seann William Scott & Josh Peck as Crash & Eddie.

New to the cast are Jeremy Renner, who will portray Gutt; Wanda Sykes as Granny; Aziz Ansari is Walter; Keke Palmer is Peaches; hip hop star Drake is Ethan; and Jennifer Lopez is Shira, a snow leopard (which falls under that overall Fox deal she made to be a judge on American Idol).

What will the upcoming sequel to Monsters Inc. be called?

The Hollywood Reporter has the answer:

The sequel to Disney/Pixar's Monsters Inc. has a title: Monsters University.

Disney revealed the moniker at its presentation at CinemaCon Tuesday.

Monsters Inc. was one or Pixar's early hits, released in 2001 as the company's fourth movie. Pete Docter and David Silverman co-directed the pic, which featured voicework from John Goodman and Billy Crystal as fright engineers Sully and Mike Wazowski. The movie scared up $525 million worldwide.

Sully/Goodman and Wazowski/Crystal are expected to be back as will monster bad guy Randall Boggs (voices by Steve Buscemi). Disney has scheduled the sequel for a 2012 release.

The premise for the new movie is under lock and key although Disney said it will be a prequel.

Here's your first look at Pixar's next film, the female-centric Brave!

Here's the story from Collider:

I’m already looking past Cars 2 and on to Pixar’s next film Brave. That’s partially because Brave will feature the studio’s first female protagonist. It was also going to be the studio’s first film with a female director (Brenda Chapman), but there was a bit of controversy last October when Chapman was replaced by Mark Andrews, who previously directed the Pixar short One Man Band.

Behind-the-scenes drama aside, Brave looks like it could be a great film. The film is set in Scotland and centers on a tomboyish princess who accidentally unleashes evil on her kingdom and must save the day. The princess was to be voiced by Reese Witherspoon but scheduling conflicts forced her to drop out. She’ll be replaced by the actually scottish Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire). Hit the jump for more details on the film plus a first look at the concept art. Brave is set to hit theaters in 3D on June 22, 2012.

DreamWorks Animation has announced its release calendar through 2014, setting dates for seven toons, including How To Train Your Dragon 2 and Mr. Peabody & Sherman.

The big question is whether Paramount and DreamWorks Animation will renew their output deal, which expires in 2012. For now, Paramount is listed as the distributor on all of the titles.

"At DreamWorks Animation, our creative ambition has never been greater and the release schedule we're unveiling today is designed to give our movies the time and resources they need to realize their full potential so each one can become a true event for our audiences," company CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said.

DreamWorks Animation's 2012 slate kicks off on June 8 with Madagascar 3. The threequel returns Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinckett Smith and Sacha Baron Cohen in the title voice roles.
